Our Youth Partner Salome discusses the gender dimension to the HIV/AIDs epidemic alongside H.E. Mrs. Toyin Saraki. The article is a powerful call for recognition that gender equality can help the fight against a number of key health issues. They argue that girls and women continue to be disproportionately affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic as a result of structural inequalities embedded in society. Due to these inequalities, we cannot effectively tackle HIV/AIDS while ignoring their experiences.
